“I find more bitter than death the woman who is a snare, whose heart is a trap…” -Ecclesiastes 7:26

We will put this flesh into the ground again.

“Naked a man comes from his mother’s womb, and as he comes, so he departs. He takes nothing from his labor that he can carry in his hand. //ecclesiastes 5:15

“His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” //psalm 147:10-11

TRANSLATION–>”I cannot dazzle God with my accomplishments.” -Brennan Manning

’nuff said.

First off, go back and read all of Psalm 139.  So beautiful.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” //psalm 139:23-24

This is one of my favorite pieces of Scripture. Nothing else really needs to be said.

May this be our prayer this week.

“I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have stilled and quieted my soul…” //psalm 131:1-2

So often, I waste my time trying to completely understand God’s mind and purpose and all the things in this world. Knowledge is fine. In fact, there is scripture all throughout the Bible that talks about the value of knowledge.

But it also talks about Him being the one with the ultimate knowledge…not us.

And then in 1 Corinthians, Paul says, “We know that we all possess knowledge.Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.”

Maybe I need to set aside my quest to figure out God’s plan for my future, the mystery of why women are crazy, the real story behind dinosaurs, & creation vs. evolution and start trying to love better.

I’d rather build up than puff up. How ’bout you?
